This series is an exploration of the male form through movement and posing, taking inspiration from classical sculptures and traditional ideologies. Throughout this process I realised the urge to explore the male body came from its connotations of freedom and the urge to explore, something that I wished to experience myself - and through taking these images, I did. In a physical sense, musculature, its shadows, its curves and unique shapes have always interested me. I have always been curious to explore something unfamiliar to me, something I am close to in age, but far away from in form. As traditional male stereotypes and expectations are slowly broken down in this age, one thing that I have always noticed is that all of my male friends have had a specific spark to them, always excited, always
ready to get their hands dirty, and most of the time - optimistic. Since being a young teenager, I have always admired the way in which my male peers have done things with an almost careless manner. I set out to create something fun, energetic and spirited - to truly make something which the viewer could resonate with, may it be their own youth, or the confidence experienced in these moments.
